What’s CPVC?
CPVC is called as Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) which is a type of PVC pipe used for building and plumbing purposes.
There is a slight difference exist between PVC, UPVC, and CPVC. CPVC has a smaller diameter and yellowish tint that helps for different CPVC pipe fittings. CPVC has a higher stability to handle much pressure than PVC and UPVC.
CPVC is a thermoplastic product produced by chlorination of polyvinyl chloride resin that is able to withstand a higher temperature than standard PVC. It is more flexible, highly durable, and comparatively less in price when compared to other products.
It handles both hot and cold water deliveries and it is safe for water body deliveries through Lorries, and other modes of transports. It is high resistance to fire.
Physical properties of CPVC
CPVC is similar to that of PVC but with a major key difference. CPVC pipe fittings are readily workable that includes machining, welding, and forming. Once you fix with the pipe fittings, you can start to work without any delay.CPVC exhibits fire-retardant property.
It has an excellent corrosion resistance at an elevated temperature that is ideally suited for the construction of 93 degrees C. CPVC pipe fittings are able to bend, reshape, weld and support internally and externally.
Advantages of using CPVC pipe fittings
Lightweight
CPVC products are light in weight. It offers a tremendous advantage in piping materials. As it is light in weight it is easy to transport and use it on work. As it is less in weight, hence it helps in reduction of the transportation cost.
Flexibility
The main advantage of using CPVC pipe fitting is, it is more flexible and highly resistant to fire. It is made from rigid compounds. PVC pipe has the ability to reduce the magnitude of pressure surges.
Coefficient of friction
All major piping line requires joint tightness. CPVC pipes fittings are available with deep insertion, solvent cement joints and push together gasket.
In recent days, CPVC pipe fittings are available with fusion joints that provide monolithic fully sealed pipeline specifically used for contaminated sites and trenchless installations.
CPVC pipe fittings reduce fluid friction and resistance flow. Hence it results in lower maintenance cost and superior performance along with a longer lifetime.
Design Versatility
Chlorinated PVC pipe fitting is versatile in many ways. It is reflected in the applications such as pipes, cables, windows, fall ceilings, billboards, safety, and medical equipment, and in marine.
Uses of CPVC pipe fitting in various industry
CPVC pipe fitting is a non-toxic safer material which is widely used throughout the world. It is the most common plastic used in all industries like electrical, electronics, civil, engineering, automobile, and in the food packaging industry.
Length of CPVC pipes
All CPVC pipes are usually 6m in length that can be extended or reduced with the help of fewer joints that never allows any leakage or loss of liquid at any cost. It is more efficient in the installation and provides less hydraulic friction.
CPVC pipe fitting is also used in interior designing, clothing, fall ceiling, pipe fitting, and bore well construction, external pipelines, roofing, and also in window frames.
